Direct Credit/Debit Card Payments Now Live

I have been using Paypal Express as my payment solution since launching the store. This has worked ok as customers not wanting to use Paypal have been able to pay via credit/debit card by choosing the “Checkout as Guest” option when directed to Paypal.

However over the last 18 months or so Paypal have been making it a bit harder for customers to make payments if they do not have a Paypal account – a card can only be used for 10 Paypal Express payments before being refused. The “Check out as guest” link has also been occasionally missing.

Today I have switched over to a different system for taking payments. While still processed by Paypal, now customers can input credit/debit card details directly on the site rather than being directed to Paypal then redirected back to my site for final confirmation.  This option shows as standard for customers logged in to their Axecaster account. Cards accepted are Visa, Mastercard, Switch and Solo.

Both registered account holders and guests still have the option to hit the “Paypal” button to make payment via their Paypal account if so desired.

I’ve tested on pc and tablet and the checkout process seems to be streamlined a little now as well.

Any problems, please get in touch.
