I have known about this for a while and now the NAMM announcement has been made I can give some information.
Mighty Mite are producing necks in the USA for the first time in 30 years. There will be a number of models in both Strat and Tele versions available with both maple and rosewood fingerboards – vintage (21 medium jumbo frets, vintage size tuner holes, 7 1/4″ radius) modern (22 medium jumbo frets, 10mm tuner holes, 10″ radius) and compound radius (22 medium jumbo frets, 10mm tuner holes, 10-14″ radius.
Mighty Mite haven’t disclosed who they are having produce these necks but they are hyping the quality as being excellent.
Prices USA list price (RRP) will be $450 – $540. As with all US pricing, actual street price will be lower. I’m looking at around the £200 mark for everything except the compound radius models at £230.
So the question is…is there any interest? I am getting a new Mighty Mite order together and the first run of USA necks is scheduled for the end of February. If there is enough interest I will order a small selection of each, so let me know.
